The National Roads Administration has some 500 civil servants, 50 employees and 640 workers.
The civil servants are mainly recruited in the following careers:
- Agent des domaines (old name: cantonnier)
- Artisan
- Expéditionnaire administratif
- Expéditionnaire technique
- Chargé technique (old name: expéditionnaire technique avec diplôme de technicien)
- Rédacteur
- Chargé de gestion (old name: ingénieur technicien)
- Chargé d’études (old name: ingénieur)
Employees are hired at all levels, both for technical and administrative roles.
Workers are mainly assigned to road maintenance units.
In general, all positions to be filled in the National Roads Administration are published on the Govjobs.lu website of the Ministry of Civil Service (MFP).
The posts of civil servants and employees are published under the heading POSTULER->Postes vacants. The website also contains information about required study degrees and others conditions which the interested parties must meet in order to validly apply.
To be able to applyn for a civil servant job, you must have successfully passed the "examen-concours" of the relevant treatment group. All the information on the "examen-concours" is published on the Govjobs.lu website under the EXAMEN-CONCOURS section.
The recruitment of employees for the National Roads Administration is done through the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works (MMTP). As needed, MMTP conducts a recruitment campaign every two years for this purpose. This campaign is also announced on the Govjobs.lu website under the heading POSTULER->Salariés.
It should be noted that except for internships during training and student jobs, applications should not be sent to the National Roads Administration.
Student jobs
The National Roads Administration offers around 20 jobs/student work opportunities each year, for a period of up to four weeks. Priority is given to young people who have reached the age of 17 and whose studies are directly related to the tasks of the National Roads Administration (in particular in the technical field).
In order to submit their application for a student job, interested parties must fulfil certain conditions defined by Luxembourg labour law and the regulations of the National Roads Administration:
- age: must have reached the age of 17;
- schooling: be in possession of a valid school attendance certificate from an educational institution in Luxembourg or abroad;
- studies directly related to the tasks of the National Roads Administration (preferably in a technical field);
- maximum duration: 4 weeks per year.

Obligatory internship and field work semesters
The National Roads Administration offers students the opportunity to carry out field work semesters or obligatory unpaid internships within its departments. The subject and assignments to be covered must be suggested by the student.

Identification card
Members of staff of the National Roads Administration have a personal identification card with their photo, name and department.
This card must be presented upon request by each member of staff of the National Roads Administration when performing their duties.
